One Year Old Photography

Bright blue eyed Baby B came to the studio for his one year old photos. Mom had seen my maternity Milk Bath shots on my blog and wanted to do one with Baby B for his first birthday. I suggested we use cereal instead of flowers. He loved it! This is an excellent alternative to cake smash photos. We shot this in my master bathroom which gets great light most of the day.  Please let me know in advance if you would like to do a Milk Bath set as part of your shoot. I need to make sure the supplies are here, and that my bedroom/bathroom are clean.    One Year Old Photography One Year Old Photography One Year Old Photography One Year Old Photography One Year Old Photography

Meet Little Ms. M. She’s 2 years old. Spring location Two Year old girl Apple Blossoms

I was looking so forward to working with little Ms. M.  We planned to do her shoot in a blooming apple orchard! I know, so perfect!!! On my drive up the mountain the skies started to get dark. Then it started looking pretty ominous. I arrived early and scouted the best spot for the pictures and prayed everyone would be on time, and the storm would hold off for at least a few shots. Knowing full well a two year old would not respond well to pressure, I kept my voice light and my instructions clear. I did not try to engage with Ms. M, there would be no time to gain her trust today. I relied on Mom, and Dad who she already trusted, told them what to do and where to stand so she would appear to be engaging with the camera. They were awesome. We took a few shots in one dress and quickly (seriously the fastest wardrobe change I have seen in my 20 years as a children’s photographer)  put her in another and kept going. We probably got about 10-12 minutes in, all together. Only 7 or 8 before it started getting dark, and I had to push my camera’s settings to her limits. Mom and I sat in my car in the storm afterwards and I showed her what I captured. I was willing to reschedule the session and try again, but it wasn’t necessary. Ms. M is so beautiful and so happy, we got more than enough shots. Here are a few of my favorites:

At first the wind blowing the blossoms off the tree was pretty. That lasted about as long as it took to take this shot. Then it got crazy. I just love her little face in the last shot.
